Keuka College
Located on the shores of Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region, Keuka College is home to a variety of undergrad, grad and ASAP (Accelerated Studies for Adults Program) students. Rev. George Harvey Ball founded Keuka College in 1890 with the vision of creating a school for all students, regardless of economic status. After brief financial headaches, the college reopened in 1921 as an all-women’s school, focusing particularly on nursing and education in the years to come. In 1985, the College opened its doors to male students. Keuka prides itself as being the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning, which includes mandatory field period (internship) assignments each year.

Did you know…
The College has strong roots in the Native American tradition, citing
each of the four graduating classes as a different tribe. Classes are
named for either the Mohawk, Tuscarora, Seneca, or Onondaga tribes on a
rotating basis. Point Neamo, Keuka’s own shoreline piece of Keuka Lake,
is said to be guarded by Princess Neamo, who drowned in the lake
waiting for her Indian prince to rescue her. Legend has it that the
seaweed in the lake is actually Princess Neamo’s hair
