Stand-up comedian and actor Christopher Titus entertained a crowd of about 300 people at the SUNY Brockport Union gymnasium last night.

Also on the ticket was opening act Johnny Watson, who many seemed to enjoy even if the audio levels on his microphone were a little too loud. Watson took jabs at trailer-trash life, which drew quite a bite of laughter from the audience.

Titus brought a great energy to the stage with jokes peppered with animated antics. He delved into personal issues that dealt with his dysfunctional family, his recent divorce, and his relationship issues while making somewhat dark topics very humorous. Much of his act was about why people waste their time in bad relationships.

“His jokes about relationships really hit home for me, which made them even funnier,” said Jason Milton, a senior majoring in Broadcasting at SUNY Brockport.

Titus joked around from about 10 p.m. until 11:20 p.m. and had the crowd laughing the whole time. At the end, students gave him as a standing ovation as he left the stage.

After the show there was a meet-and-greet with Titus signing autographs and posing for pictures for a line of students. It was late but he was still in good spirits, smiling and laughing the whole time.

“He signed the cover of my DVD, the inside slip, and all three discs!” exclaimed Jon Monnat, a senior at SUNY Brockport.
