Sex and the City: The Movie

It is finally here! The opening weekend of "Sex and the City: The Movie." For countless fans across the world, these last four years have been grueling ones waiting for the movie to arrive in theatres. Now that it has arrived and answered the prayers of women (and some men) across the world, Rocloop went ahead and reviewed the movie for all of those who have patiently waited.

Sitting in my seat before the show the anticipation was building with so many questions running through my mind. Is it going to be as good as expected? Will it fulfill all of my "Sex and the City" fantasies? With almost a nervous stomach, the movie began. And yes! There is the beautiful Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) walking through the streets of New York City, like always.

Without giving any of the plot away, I will tell that it does indeed pick up where the last season left off. All of the same actors came back together to give the faithful followers of the popular HBO series with a feeling of comfort. These favorite characters are back together on the big screen to entertain us like we have always enjoyed.

The plot moves between relationships, both happy and sad, and the friendships of our four favorite ladies. Now that the cast of "Sex and the City" has hit the big screen, you will see a bit of change. All the characters are moving toward what is really important in life. All women have found their niche and are creating fulfilling careers as well as their happiness. They are truly searching for meaning, it is not just fun and games anymore. As women in their 40's, they are discovering who they are.

Although the plot is ultimately moving toward happiness, a few twists of fate leave the viewer in agony. With heart wrenching unexpected changes. Bring tissues along for the ride.

As Sarah Jessica Parker says in her Today Show interview, "I highly recommend it for both men and women."

In an effort to avoid exposing any secrets or part of the plot line, below are both before and after reactions by those at the 12:30 p.m. showing on opening day at Regal Henrietta:

Before:

" We are addicted to this," said Susan Moyer. "I live in New York City and parts of the movie were filmed right by my apartment."

"I am so excited," said Brianna Bauer. "Two of my friends have seen it, and I keep asking them if it ends well. I just want it to end well."

After:

"I liked it very much, we are huge fans," said Moyer. "We know every episode and everything about it. It was a great plot."

"I loved it, I want to see it again right now," said Bauer.

I give this film a 10 out of 10. I may be an easy grader, but it definitely lives up to the publicity. And it was everything that a "Sex and the City" fan could want, plus more!
